Topic: JSR 223: Scripting for the Java Platform (7:00pm-8:30pm) The Java Scripting API (JSR-223) consists of a script language independent framework that provides developers with the power to leverage the strengths of a scripting language (JavaScript, Ruby, Python, etc.) from within their Java applications. This presentation will focus on demonstrating how the Java Scripting API empowers Java developers to choose the best tool for a given task rather than having to work within the confines of a given language. Emphasis will be placed on the interface itself and the usage of third-party scripting engines to execute scripts rather than the intricacies of implementing a scripting engine.
Presenter: Kirsten Henderson is a Software Developer on iDashboards, a Business Intelligence enterprise dashboard application.
